Thanks for keeping up with this. It will be very interesting to dissect the lies that will come out in the next few days . Trump has zero credibility in making these grand pronouncements of victory.

He said we just destroyed your nuclear sites, now surrender! He's going to declare victory and go home. There's a lot of debate about what Iran should do next. It's a hard decision.

LOL they fired 40 missiles at Israel.

Iran and friends talked they would attack all USA military and economic targets in the region if they decided to attack the nuclear sites. I believe they used to be much more vague on their threats when they get attacked by US or Israel, so they could retaliate little or much latter without losing image.

They can't back down on their talks. That, and it's a bad idea to just let someone bomb nuclear assets without doing something.

We still don't know if they will attack US targets. Up in the air. But the Iraqi military has already attacked the US bases lately.

"That, and it's a bad idea to just let someone bomb nuclear assets without doing something."

This is an excellent point. They're worried about US retaliation.

Robert, do you think it is true that the Iranians are enriching uranium at a level above that needed for reactor fuel?

Expand full comment
Robert Lindsay's avatar

They are but they only started doing it when we started doing these high pressure negotiations design for their surrender, disarmament, and capitulation. They ramped up the enrichment and quit allowing inspections as a way to say fuck you to the lame pressured negotiations for which there was no purpose. It doesn't mean they were making a bomb. They do have enough fissile material for eight bombs now though, but they don't even have a nuclear weapons program so they would have to start one first. After that, minimum 3-8 years until a working warhead fitted on a tested and working missile. 3 years at the soonest.

Sounds about right.

I think they will want one now though

See? Be careful what you ask for. I think they may go for one now and I supposed an Iranian bomb 100%.

It won't matter as I've said before.

US and USSR both had (have) nukes

Can't be used.

Some good may come from this.

The Iranians may wait till Orange Numb Nuts is gone to announce it though.

Would be wise for them to lay a bit low for a while.

But none of this helps the people of Gaza or those in the West Bank

Sad situation

I wonder if the Israelis blackmailed Trump to get him to attack.

It seemed like Trump did not want direct US involvement - but I could be wrong.

This is not correct. Well there was a long term plan for Israel to attack Iran and we were in on that. It started on November 12 and went for eight months. We were just supposed to help. Whether we were supposed to go in and attack later as part of this plan or whether we decided just recently, I have no idea. I have no idea if he wanted it or not. I can’t read the guy anymore. I don’t think anyone can.

This was reported last night.

A Trump official tells The Grayzone that Israel’s Mossad is using CIA Director John Ratcliffe and US CENTCOM’s Gen. Michael Kurilla to influence Trump with cooked intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program. Inside the White House, dissenters have been isolated, setting the stage for a regime change war that could cost American lives.

An official in the administration of President Donald Trump has told The Grayzone that CIA Director John Ratcliffe and US CENTCOM Commander Gen. Michael Kurilla have become vehicles for Israel’s Mossad and military as they seek to manipulate the US into attacking Iran. The Trump official referred to Ratcliffe as “Mossad’s stenographer.”

This is probably exactly what is happening. All he signed off on on November 12 was an Israeli attack on Iran and US help with that. I don't think he signed off on US involved. I guess he left that open. So these two influenced him with cooked up fake intel from Israel, just like the Iraq War. It's another War for Israel, another War for the Jews, this time The Iranian War for the Jews.

This will backfire badly, now the Iranians will buy nukes from North Korea

I don't really care anymore.

What difference will it make if Iran has nukes - I've said it before

Exactly, unless the US or Israel is insane enough to try to regime change a nuclear Iran. In that case, fuck it, man nuke Tel Aviv. At least a tactical nuke. I’m sick of them.

... Yet, the most faithful followers of Trump — including some of my fellow Canadians (WTF!) — STILL admire him as some sort of genius that resists/challenges the Deep State (etcetera). … And there's “the swamp” that Trump claims he'll drain — although he himself is a part of it. Since both Trump administrations kowtow(ed) to big fossil fuel, mostly via the recklessly significant loosening of environmental protections, he, far from genuinely trying to “drain the swamp”, actually wallows in it. Now he even wades deeper into the filth by siding with big-money military interests (not to mention Netanyahu's Israel) in un-provokedly bombing Iran!

A revelatory review (by Geoff Olson, 01/10/2018) of the book The American Deep State: Wall Street, Big Oil and the Attack on U.S. Democracy notes that the book's author describes big oil CEOs and lobbyists in the U.S. as being a notably large part of the American Deep State. Therefore, it would be a large part of the national Capitol’s swamp that Trump claims has corrupted D.C. and, ergo, was supposedly seeking to destroy him and his presidency. ... If Trump does end up boding well for the world, it will have been accidental. How could it not be?

.

“This notion of a supranational deep state does not seem to be far-fetched to me, though I remain agnostic about rumors involving the [Donald Trump administration's] Offal Office. I certainly don’t buy the alt-right notion that Trump is playing 'four-dimensional chess' against the deep state. The six-time bankruptee would probably lose at checkers to a nine-year old and tweet that he whipped Garry Kasparov.”

No Fordow was hit with bunker busters for sure, but they didn't do shit really. GBU's don't penetrate solid rock! They have to get through that solid rock somehow and they can't. So they go through earth but not pure rock.
