Israel Is the Most Evil Country on Earth, but Diaspora Jews Are the Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread?
I've been on the Left for a long time. We've been bashing Israel forever, and I've been an Israel-hater for decades. I took this mindset for granted for decades, as the Left insists that Israel is pretty much Satan (along with a lot of other wicked countries I might add).
But the Left at the same time always said the Jewish people in the Diaspora were the greatest thing since sliced bread. The combination of the two attitudes is summed up in the title of this piece.
According to the Left, the behavior of Israel has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with the thoughts, behavior, culture, and religion of the Jews.
Instead, Israel is based on some heresy called "Zionism" which is contrary to Jewish behavior, culture, and especially religion. If they hadn’t been hijacked by this wicked Zionism business, Jews would be as harmless as the Amish. Well, that’s ridiculous.
The only reason they say this is that the liberal-Left is terrified of being called racist. Once again, the Left’s petty terrors freeze it in place and render it incapable of thought on this or that subject, locked into a mental inertia as unmoving as an iceberg.
I believed this utter nonsense for many years, as it's a very comforting thought. Uncomfortable truths stick in our craw like an itch we can’t scratch. It feels so bad that we deny that they exist in the first place.
After a while, I started reading utterly heretical people like Gilad Atzmon who suggested that Israel and Jewish thinking and behavior were linked.
Now Atzmon is a horrendous antisemitic Jew, and I've told him so to his face. He pushes conspiratorial and obsessive antisemitism, the worst kind. I blew off Atzmon.
One day a Jewish commenter came to my website and said that most people who didn't like Jews had a lot of experience with them, and folks who had never been around them often liked them a lot.
This is what people say about Blacks too, and it's catastrophic for any ethnic group to behave this way. It means the group acts awful.
The reason is that the normal human way of thinking is that we often don't like strange groups all that much, mostly because they are mysterious and we don't know them and hence suspect them. The fear of the unknown.
But as we get to know these strange people more and more, we start to like them as we see their common humanity they share with us. So going from ignorance to dislike goes against the human tendency, and it's a disastrous thing to say about anyone.
He also pointed out that Jews, mostly Jewish men, were highly aggressive people. I had never thought of it exactly like that before, but looking back at even my father's friends, yes, there was an aggression about them.
I never noticed it for 55+ years, but it was there all right, sort of lurking in the shadows but easy to ignore or fail to notice.
He also noted that there was a thuggish quality about a lot of the Jews in academia and business.
He pointed out that New Yorkers had a rude, belligerent, “get out of my way” attitude because so many of them were Jews, hence "Jewish behavior" had radiated out into the Gentiles of the group, and they had become "Judaized Gentiles."
His basic line was that people don’t like Jews too much because they are highly aggressive people. He had grown up in a Jewish part of New York, and he had pointed out to his people that they acted aggressive and this might be a cause of antisemitism. His friends said
Oh, everyone acts like that. We don’t act any different in that way.
But then he left New York and traveled around other parts of the US. He found that it was not true that everyone acted aggressive like his people said. Instead he found that most non-Jews he met were far less aggressive than Jews.
He also pointed out, almost as an aside, that Israel had a reputation as a thuggish, extremely aggressive state that attacks all of its neighbors and can’t get along with anyone.
This part was the clincher.
That was the first time in my life, in my late 50’s, that I even considered that there might be connection between basic Jewish culture, behavior, and religion and those of the state of Israel. I had been so brainwashed before that it had never occurred to me.
I was stunned but it got me thinking. After a while, I figured out it out.
This idea of a demonic Israel and the pure white light and humanistic beauty of the blessed Diaspora Jews was insane.
The behavior of Israeli Jews seemed to share something in common with even the more liberal Jews of the Diaspora because Israeli Jews often reference basic Jewish values to justify their genocidal actions.
Even worse, the Jews of Israel also reference the Jewish religion to justify their bloodthirsty, Nazi-like, exterminationist mindset. The two groups have something in common as odd as it seems. They’re both drawing water from the same contaminated well.
Even more damningly, 85% of US Jews feel deeply close to Israel, so the US Jews are supporting the Jewish fascist, racist, exterminationalist, Nazi-minded Genocide Jews of Israel. If Israel is fascist, then American Jews are fascists for supporting them.
If you support fascism, you're a fascist. That almost all Diaspora Jews support fascism is pathetic due to the horrific damage that Gentile fascists did to Jews in the recent past.
Apparently, according to Jews, all fascism is evil except Jewish fascism, which is the best thing since radial tires.
Clearly the behavior of the Israeli state has deep roots in the culture, mindset, habits, thought processes, and religion of the Jewish people.
There is a a disconnect here.
On the one hand, we have the extreme liberalism and even, yes, profound humanism, of the Diaspora Jews in their lands which has liberated and freed our societies greater than any debt that can ever be repaid.
On the other hand, we have Diaspora Jews’ support for the Nazi-minded exterminationist Genocide Jews of Israel.
It's a gap as wide as the Grand Canyon, yet the Diaspora Jews long-jump it easily every day. Cognitive dissonance is a powerful thing.
I was talking with a woman that left her family's Jew religion and was working on purging it. She was in her early 40s at the time. She said it was a religion of hate and her family had no problem of blaming her for her father molesting her.
She was still in therapy, she said and that was because of that religion always blames victims for Jew crimes. The books they taught her with were full of horror against innocents and she couldn't bear it.
From a fellow Gen-Xer like you in my late 50s, this piece calls the emperor naked and is on-point.
It's now more than apparent that Judaism is at best a huckster's creed - a guidebook with no-holds-barred thumb-rules for tribe-members to get ahead - at all costs - especially costs imposed on non-Jews. It's largely amoral*. Like you I got there first and then discovered comforting corroboration in Gilad Atzmon, and especially Bobby Fischer - utterly with conviction and courage - in his many interviews to Philippine Radio. The 1961 Benjamin Freedman speech, Ford's 1920 newsletters, Osman Bey etc reinforced this assessment.
STILL, decent peoples we are - many of us got here kicking and screaming. As you write correctly "The only reason they say this is that the liberal-Left is terrified of being called racist. Once again, the Left’s petty terrors freeze it in place and render it incapable of thought on this or that subject, locked into a mental inertia as unmoving as an iceberg. ....I believed this utter nonsense for many years, as it's a very comforting thought." -- very true and is the very embodiment and definition of Orwell's Crimestop^.
I think what kept us back - even privately - reaching this contrarian position - is the contributions of the likes of Chomsky, Zinn etc- on dissident historical aspects but they didn't get into Judaism or untouchable topics - though Chomsky famously wrote the foreword to the French denier for free speech reasons. In the beginning of the Gaza holocaust, we were heartened by the vocal positions of Miko Peled, the Gabor Mate, Gideon Levy, Ilan Pape, and a handful - but none of them lay the blame - the root cause - on the cultish creedal "values". It's left to us here and Fischer/Atzmon to call that out.
That 98.4%*** of Israeli Jews feel that the violence of their elected government in Gaza was just right or lesser than appropriate (hear that ) and your observations on Diaspora Jews (85% of US Jews) explicitly or tacitly supporting Israel should convince us that contorting our mental position to accommodate that hair splitting between Jews and Zionists is unwarranted. We can still be decent people - engaging in generalisation - while making exceptions for individuals expressing moral and reasoned outrage at what's happening. Ron Unz is there.
Again, well articulated.
