Why "Hamas' Goal Is the Destruction of Israel" Is a Lie

Hamas has stated again and again the destruction of Israel is its goal.

“Destruction of Israel” is unfortunate language, but Israel’s enemies use this violent language which is not helpful at all. It sounds like you’re going to kill all the Jews for Chrissake.

If you say you’re not going to kill all the Jews when you take over, why don’t you stop using this violent language that implies you will do just that?

In general “destruction of Israel” just means the military conquest of Israel. It doesn’t mean murdering all the Jews.

In other cases it doesn’t even mean that. Iran talks about destroying Israel all the time, but all they want is a plebiscite on the future of the region. They’re not even talking about the conquest of Israel.
