Who Are These Famous American Writers?

Name these famous American writers.

They all wrote in the 20th Century save two of them. One was still publishing in the 1980's. I only got three of them if you can believe that. In the 4th from the top, that photo of him is a lot younger than what we usually see.

He looks a bit like young Joseph Stalin! 3rd from the bottom, that picture is also younger than we are used to seeing. I thought he looked like Hitler!
