The "Teen Pregnancy" Bullshit

“Teen pregnancy” itself is a trash concept as it lumps in pregnancies in 18 and 19 year old women with pregnancies in 13-17 year old adults. There’s no good evidence that pregnancies in 18-19 year old women are pathological in any way, certainly not biologically. A female’s hips finally widen enough at age 18-19 to be able to easily give birth to a baby. Before that, a girl’s hips are not wide enough to easily carry a baby and this can lead to complications.

Pregnancies in 13-14 year old girls should be regulated by mandatory abortion. Am I an abortion radical or what? Girls that age have immature reproductive organs that are too small to effectively carry a baby. If they get pregnant and birth a child, 25% of the time they get ripped up inside. If it is not fixed she can never have kids again. The fix is a major surgery.

In fact the whole “teen pregnancy and bad outcomes” statistic tends to go away when you factor out race, class, income, etc. A lot of these girls are from poor Black and Hispanic families. So most of the bad outcomes of teen pregnancies are caused by things other than merely having a baby

I’m not saying it’s a great idea for 15-17 year old girls to get pregnant and have babies. It’s a bad idea for a lot of reasons. I’m saying that the bad outcomes are much exaggerated.
