Good Lord they’re horrific. As bad as the George H. W. Bush ruling class types were, there was at least a sense of noblesse oblige lurking somewhere, no matter how hidden. This is absent from the Tech Bros.

At least they bothered to recite such pablum as “a kinder, gentler America” and “compassionate conservatism,” no matter how dishonest these sayings were. They got an A for effort!

The Tech Bros don’t even bother with pretending to be nice. Instead it’s just straight up Friedmanite neoclassical capitalism that even Adam Smith would spit on.

This is Libertarianism - a celebration of the wickedness, cruelty, and inequality of capitalism with worship of a greater secular God, that of Mammon. Their morality in short is if it makes money, it’s good. If it doesn’t it’s bad. There’s no other value in sight.
