The 88% of Porn Portrays Violence against Women" Bullshit

Yeah, it’s bullshit. I always suspected it was but I wasn’t sure. So now it’s been proven. Se la vie. It turns out that she included “verbal violence” in her write-up, but that’s sounds nuts. That could include “degrading language,” a lot of which women want to hear in bed. Hell, they even request it.

I’ve heard it all. I had a girlfriend my own age recently. I used to call her a “dirty bitch.” That’s just sex talk. It doesn’t mean a thing. The thing was she thought I was calling her a bitch and she liked that. Yeah, she liked getting called a bitch. WTH.

The statistic has now been falsified. Turns out she included BDSM porn in her analysis, and if you take that out, the percentage of violence against women collapses. There’s still some but not much. And if you throw out the verbal violence, whatever the Hell that is, it’s going down further.

All of those analyses that show porn causes harm in the lab are all looking at “violent porn.” I don’t know what that is, but I guess it’s BDSM stuff. So BDSM porn can definitely have harmful effects of increasing means callousness and aggression towards women, but I’m not aware that this is reflected in crime statistics yet. Most statistics show that sex crimes collapse with the legalization of porn. And for a brief time when child porn was legal, molestation rates collapsed.

I’ve seen webpages of feminists who are making this argument. The have stills from some porn movies that are pretty rapey and bad. But I’ve never seen a movie like that. On mainstream sites, depicting actual rape in porn is generally not allowed. You have to go to special sites for that, and boy is that stuff messed up! I can barely handle 15 seconds of it before I have to close it out.

Porn is getting more violent and misogynistic but that’s another matter. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing. Violent porn has bad effects, at least in the lab. In real life I’m not sure. At any rate I find it hard to watch, and I have a very hard time imagining myself being one of the maniacs in those videos who act like they hate women. At any rate it’s not included in the 88% figure.
