Statutory Rape from the 1970's to the Present Day

Referring to the recent case of Jock Sturges getting convicted of statutory rape 45 years after he committed the crime in 1975, we might as well delve into the matter of statutory rape between then and now.

This sort of crime is way more common than you think. Keep in mind that in this era there were well known groupies that age who were having sex with most of the rock bands who came to town.

They called them the baby groupies. They are now my age and are unrepentant about their behavior. Especially back in those days, most people wouldn’t even think it was much of a crime. I heard about men who got arrested at similar ages for sex with girls of similar ages.

I never heard of a case involving a man and a 14 year old girl, but arrests were rare for this sort of thing anyway. The only cases I remember involved 15 year old girls.
