On the Israeli Mossad

I am always amazed at the capabilities of the Israeli intelligence services, one of the finest in the world. One great thing about them is that they hardly ever have intelligence leaks out of Mossad or Aman, Israeli military intelligence. Shin Bet, the internal security organ, also looks very good. Looks like it’s awful hard to penetrate Mossad with spies too.

The Iranians have had some luck.

I saw a video a while back of a Mossad colonel who was assassinated at a traffic stop by unknown men. It was an Iranian hit team. They had been staying in a safe house in Israel for two years and had never been uncovered. Very soon after he was shot, many police were running to the scene. In the next five minutes there were soldiers pouring in too. Israel wrote it off as street crime. No street crime involves that level of cops and military.

Another time Israel struck the CIA/Mossad Headquarters in Irbil in Iraqi Kurdistan. There were two generals there, American and Israeli, and both were killed. There were Mossad agents there, and they were killed too. Three weeks later the American general was listed as being killed in an auto accident in Poland. Around the same time, Israeli media announced that their general had been killed in a street crime incident in Mexico City. This is typical for this skullduggery. Deaths of generals involved with intelligence agencies are often covered up. An Iranian hit on Mossad and any associated Americans would surely be covered up by both parties.

On another occasion a boat blew up at the dock of a UAE harbor. Three men were killed. Iranian media said they were all Mossad agents.

To be able to pull off these operations Iran must have penetrated Mossad to an extent, but not very much.

The pager operation and the killing of the great Sayed Nasrallah in Lebanon had been conducted unseen over a period of 15 years. The plot to blow up the Beirut harbor with a bomb - in this case a tactical nuclear nuclear bomb - had been in place uncovered for 10-15 years. The plot to decapitate the Iranian government - the purpose of Israel’s initial wave of assassinations - had been planned unnoticed for 5-10 years. Mossad had spent that long stalking the people they assassinated, so they knew where they would be at what time. They also recruited many people inside Iran to work with the Mossad.

Mossad and Shin Bet buy people off all the time. In Gaza there are now scores of Palestinians who are working with Shin Bet, all for money. It’s pretty amazing what people will do for money. In the West Bank and in Gaza, spies are often blackmailed. If you are secretly gay, cheating on your wife, etc., the Shin Bet will threaten to reveal it to everyone unless the person works for them. And there’s always torture.
