It could be any of these. Everybody is too sensitive these days. People shouldn’t unsubscribe because they react to one or two things when they subscribed in the first place because they were attracted to your writing and thinking process. That is the easy way out. It should be interesting to see where you are coming from…if you develop the idea. They should assist you in the comments if they have issues. I had a white feminist dress me down for “mansplaining (white) feminists.” Even after I advised that I I have experience teaching from Black feminist authors!

Robert! This is what I found on trout

Unsuccessful Writer:

He is consistently depicted as an obscure and underappreciated author, despite the originality and imaginative quality of his stories.

Alter Ego/Satirical Device:

Some critics see Trout as Vonnegut's alter ego, a way to explore his own creative frustrations and the challenges faced by writers.

Themes and Ideas:

Trout's stories, often mentioned in passing, touch on themes of war, social injustice, the nature of reality, and the absurdities of human behavior.

Inspiration:

Vonnegut acknowledged that the character was inspired by his friend, the science fiction writer Theodore Sturgeon, though he also emphasized that Trout became a unique entity.

Recurring Character:

Kilgore Trout appears in several of Vonnegut's novels, including Slaughterhouse-Five, Breakfast of Champions, and God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, often serving as a point of connection or commentary for other characters.
