How Do These Catch a Predator Stings Work?

There is a lot of controversy about adult men talking to minor teenage girls on the Net. Everyone thinks it’s illegal. Of course it’s not illegal for God’s sake. Anyone can talk to anyone about anything. It’s a free country.

But I find it absolutely terrifying that so many supposedly sane people think it ought to be against the law for adult men to talk to minor teenage girls on the Web. Why should it be illegal for God’s sake? That’s so weird.
