Anticipating comments that this post is antisemitic, the theme is agrees with the great Jewish writer Francis Foer’s article in The Atlantic.
The theme was that the Golden Age of American Jewry is over and we are heading into an era of increased antisemitism or at least critical-semitisim and a more cynical attitude towards Jews, appropriate for any self-interested ethnic group no matter their background.
I agree with Foer that the Golden Age is over, but I fault Jews for this. I think they blew it up. I feel exasperated with them because it upsets me that they sabotage themselves.
This correlates with historical data that in my opinion implies that whenever Jews accumulated a lot of power in a region, after a while, they blew it up because they wouldn’t stop pushing for more and more. An excellent example is the conversos in Spain around 1450.
