Zionist just means you support the right of a Jewish state to exist in Palestine.

It is perfectly possible to be a Zionist and oppose the current genocide. In fact, Gentile Zionists in the US oppose the genocide by 70%. This is how many Americans want to cut off military aid to Israel.

Further, the two state solution everyone loves is a Zionist solution. Zionist is a dirty word because of the Arabs and some Muslims. Zionism was a settler-colonial project that from the very start intended to throw most if not all of the Arabs off the land so the Jews could have it for their own.

Hence Arabs started opposing this project itself from pretty early on, certainly by 1915. In addition, a number of Hard Left groups, often Jewish-led, started opposing Zionism from very early on as an imperialist settler-colonial state that was founded on land theft and murder.

The USSR became an opponent of Zionism very early on.
