I prefer novels of course, so where there is no notation after the title, it refers to a novel. Short story collections, poetry, plays, and nonfiction are labeled, and some of the nonfiction is labeled further by category.
I dip into a lot of books that I own or have read in real life and then put them down. These are 1-9 pages. Those are listed as “bits.” Longer excursions into books I own or have read in real life of 10-29 pages are listed as “some.” Beyond that I just list the number of pages for any book, including excerpts.
“Excerpts” are where I did not have a physical copy of the book but instead read a bit of the book on the web. These are usually 4-9 pages. When they are 10-29 pages, they are listed as “some.” Where they are less than one page, they are not listed.
