Ansar Allah Missile Hits Netzarim Airbase in Israel (Verified)
In a previous article, we ran photos from Chinese WeChat that claimed Ansar Allah’s missile attacks on Israel scored hits on the US Embassy, a IDF command center in Tel Aviv, the IDF Netzarim Airbase, and a US aircraft carrier, the Harry S. Truman.
There were photos accompanying each supposed strike. However, the photos of the carrier are from from a Life Magazine photo of a fire on the USS Forrestal in 1967, and the photo of the command center in Tel Aviv is from an IDF bombing in Gaza a year ago. The two other photos of the US Embassy attack and the Netzarim Airbase attack could not be identified.
The problem is not only that WeChat has already shown itself to be a poor source for photos of strikes on Israel, but users also failed to perform due diligence by checking the photos against image search applications.
